General Policies for Working with the NCAR AMIE and TGCM Team
B. Emery, G. Lu, D. Knipp. A. Richmond- 01/26/99

The NCAR AMIE and TGCM team members are eager and willing to work with other colleagues under the following set of general ground rules. The prime AMIE collector(s) are given in the list of AMIE campaigns.

AMIE:

1) AMIE data sets can be shared (given) or runs can be made using AMIE data sets if:
- ALL the data providers are contacted for their approval. This is ESPECIALLY important if the prime AMIE collector is NOT a co-author, but is only acknowledged. (This is very important for Greenland, CANOPUS, 210 and others -- some of whom need lists of articles their data are used in.)
- Consent of the prime AMIE collector(s) has been given.
- Use appropriate acknowledgement statements for data providers and prime AMIE collector(s). There are lists of appropriate acknowledgement statements for many data providers.
- Send pre-prints of any proposals or papers to the prime AMIE collector(s) to check for appropriate acknowledgements (or co-authorships), and send final copy later in a timely manner.
- Recommend sending a final copy of any paper to data suppliers where their data are acknowledged and used.
- Do not pass on the data or runs to others without the express permission of the prime AMIE collector(s) and the data providers.

2) AMIE ascii files of results can be used if:
- Consent of the prime AMIE collector(s) has been given (e.g. collaboration). An exception is if the output has been deposited in the CEDAR Data Base, in which case the CEDAR Rules of the Road are applicable.
- Do not pass on the runs to others without the express permission of the prime AMIE collector(s).

T(TI,TIE,TIME)GCM/AMIE:

1) AMIE/TGCM runs can be made or history files used if:
- Consent of the prime AMIE collector(s) has been given (e.g. collaboration). An exception is if the output has been deposited in the CEDAR Data Base, in which case the CEDAR Rules of the Road are applicable.
- Use appropriate acknowledgement statements for data providers and prime AMIE collector(s). There are lists of appropriate acknowledgement statements for many data providers. If all the AMIE data providers have been previously recognized in a publication, citation of that publication will normally suffice.
- Send pre-prints of any proposals or papers to the prime AMIE collector(s) to check for appropriate acknowledgements (or co-authorships), and send final copy later in a timely manner.
- Recommend sending a final copy of any paper to data suppliers where their data are acknowledged and used.
- Do not pass on the runs to others without the express permission of the prime AMIE collector(s).
