MEES SOLAR OBSERVATORY

Observing Plan for 1999 August 18:

Mees is clear and observing. The morning survey of all numbered active
regions is complete. We are targeting AR8668, in support of WSM 3 and
   Max Millennium OP002.

   Details:

   (1)    Imaging Vector Magnetograph: Active region survey, followed by
repeated vector magnetograms of AR 8668.
   (2)    Haleakala Stokes Polarimeter: Down, electronic problem.
   (3)    MCCD: JPW05 on AR8668.
   (4)    Routine observations as follows:
          + H-alpha coronagraph: West limb.
          + MWLT: Full disk continuum.

Observing Plan for 1999 August 19:

Mees is closed today, but we will be observing over the weekend during
WSM. The trade wind inversion is predicted to be weak and rather high
the next couple of days, so we may have trouble with convective
clouds. A new feature has been added to the IVM data page, courtesy of
Barry LaBonte: white-light movies of the main target region. As of
now, there is only yesterday's movie available, and it has a few
   problems--but stay tuned.

   (4)    Routine observations as follows:
+ H-alpha coronagraph: North polar region.
          + MWLT: Full disk continuum.

Observing Plan for 1999 August 26:

Whole Sun Month target 8668 is too close to the limb for useful
magnetograms. Observations will be taken of AR 8668 with the MCCD and
