Thanks to the enthusiasm and hard work of all its participants, the Whole Sun Month workshop was a great success. Many beautiful data were presented, and many interesting subjects raised and discussed. Now that the workshop is over, however, we are looking to the future coordination and presentation of our modeling efforts.

First on the agenda is the AGU meeting. We encourage as many people as possible to submit oral/poster contributions to the AGU in the name of Whole Sun Month. This will ensure that all contributions are grouped together. Details on how to do this are contained in a mailer to follow. Also, please send copies of your abstracts to Sarah Gibson and Doug Biesecker so that we can ensure all Whole Sun Month material is kept together.

We will be sending a general invitation to the solar physics and heliospheric communities to participate in the Whole Sun Month Campaign. We see this as invaluable for attaining the far-reaching goals we have set for ourselves. We will invite all those involved or interested in being involved with Whole Sun Month to a gathering to be held on the afternoon of May 26, the day before the AGU (or possibly an evening during the AGU, if the overwhelming response is not to have it before the AGU). This gathering would most likely be held at NASA/GSFC. There we would discuss in particular how we will organise the work into working groups, foster collaborations, and integrate the work of people who did not attend the first workshop. We will send more details about this later. We also plan to have a similar gathering at the SOHO Workshop in OSLO, to involve people who could not be at the AGU.

At the workshop, the possibility of publishing the results of this campaign in a special journal issue came up. Further discussion following the workshop has made it clear that this would depend on having a small number of final papers, on the order of 5, with many authors. To facilitate this, we have proposed 5 working groups to organize the scientific goals of Whole Sun Month into potential papers. We will have a second workshop in September (possibly Sept 15-17) at which we will bring together all of our individual and collaborative projects into the context of these interdependent working groups.

In the mailer immediately following this one, we will present these five working groups, along with the specific modeling goals that were discussed during the workshop. We encourage feedback and suggestions regarding these working groups.

Again, thanks to everyone who has been and will be involved in Whole Sun Month, and we will see you at the AGU and/or the SOHO workshop in Oslo.
