Fluid motion and MHD in the solar convection zone and the tachocline - ABSTRACT

I will review observations and theory of motions either seen or thought to occur in the solar interior, covering a wide range of spatial and time scales, but focussing primarily on longer lived and larger scale patterns. I will characterize the differences in motions to be expected in three interior domains: the convection zone, the tachocline, and the radiative interior, with primary emphasis on the first two of these. I will also give some emphasis to the relationships between these motions and magnetic structures and variability in the sun.
