Bruce is interested in the fine structure of the solar magnetic field, sunspot structure, solar oscillations as atmospheric diagnostics, structure and energetics of the solar chromosphere, solar instrumentation.Responsibilities
Principal Investigator, Hinode Spectro-Polarimeter (responsible for ongoing operations, data reduction and analysis).Associate Investigator, Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager instrument on NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory.
Co-Investigator on the Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (NASA SMEX mission, 2012 launch).
