27th Jan setup/checks 28th Jan snowing 29th Jan atrocious seeing, clear skies 30th Jan data+part calibrations "Ugly seeing" to start "We were able to finish four maps running both FIRS and IBIS (Active Region 1041). Near the end of the forth map, we noticed that there was a small amount of condensation on the entrance window. This condensation disappeared quickly but started to reform during flat fielding for IBIS and FIRS systems. Since finishing the first set of flats and darks, we have not been able to continue with calibrations due to the high humidity and temperature of the entrance window. " Doug 31st Jan clouds 1st Feb mostly cloudy 2nd Feb 14:00 clear with clouds in the west approaching "We could take 2 full rasters and now try to get all the calibration data. I hope we can at least get FIRS polarization calibrations and flats for the wl and the gband (sorry, I could not resist so we ran the gband to get speckle reconstructions -- i will do that)" Ali. Observations for February 2, consist of the following: Two maps were acquired at North 23.8, West 2.3, Active Region 1043. The large spot in this region was positioned at the center of our field of view. Thanks for finding the spot Ali! Seeing for these maps was 'fair to good'. A polarization calibration was acquired for the FIRS system only. Flats and darks were taken for both systems, whitelight and PCO with variable light levels persisting during the flats (cirrus). With some small holes in the cloud cover we were also able to get dot-grid and line-grid series for IBIS, whitelight and PCO. If it clears this afternoon, Joe will try to get more flats and possibly target and grid maps with the FIRS system. From looking at the weather forecast, this probably will not happen. - dg " The AO did well. We operated off a single reference for both of the maps. The local seeing during this time was 0.4 arcsec but there were noticeable waves in the upper level seeing." -dg 3rd Feb high wind, snow 4th feb 5th feb seeing horrible but clear, full set calibrations obtained. 6th feb no data (seeing bad) new AR NOAA 11045
