Too Much Spam?

*If you are receiving large amounts of spam at your UCAR email:*

  1. Open an Assist ticket and the CSMT can look into your Mailguard and spam control settings.
  2. Phase out using your UCAR email address for personal use. There are several places where one can obtain a personal email account for free, such as google, yahoo, or your home ISP. As you receive mail, bills, sale ads, catalogs and correspondence from companies at your UCAR address, contact each company individually and give them your personal account. As you know, many companies sell your contact information, so once you give out your UCAR email to one company, it could be shared with others.

  4. Take advantage of email client Junk filters, such as those found in Thunderbird and Apple Mail.
